Thanks to our Business in Berkshire Micro-site we are permanently on page one of Google for “personalised aprons”. 50% of visitors to our main ecommerce site come via BinB. 15% of which convert to a sale. Well it didn’t suddenly magic itself out of thin air. We built the foundations for the micro-site back in November 2005 and in 2 months a total of 77 people visited the space. Mostly due to a fun animation we had on there! During 2006 there was a steady flow until around the end of October and the stats started to move up a gear with over 800 visiting the micro site in November and December (2196 in the whole of 2006). In 2007 we doubled the whole year stats to 4054 visitors. Nov & Dec showing over 500 each month! 2008 saw very little new content being added but we still showed an increase to 4650 with Nov & Dec showing over 20% growth, with more than 600 visitors in each month. January 2009 started well with 368 visitors, 236 or 64% of the visitors landing via searching the Internet. Nearly 100 different key phrases being tried to find a solution to a culinary problem. Kitchen glove, cookware, knives and aprons all showing multiple searches. Google reckons BinB/cookfriend is the best place to find personalised aprons and a guide to buying kitchen knives! Amongst a bunch of other stuff... Business in Berkshire provides a fantastic platform for local businesses to promote their wares to those looking for what you have to offer as the above clearly demonstrates.
